Back Matter in Your Book

Recipes are not the only thing you will want to have included in your book. Non-recipe text can be an important and interesting aspect of your cookbook, giving the user great tips, fun stories, and user-friendly information. Last month, we discussed front matter, chapter opener text, and other options such as menus, wine suggestions, quotes, photo captions, etiquette, and how-to’s. This month we look at the options you have when it comes to the back matter in your cookbook. Click here to read the rest of the story.

It has been a busy summer for FRP Publishing! The most exciting news was the re-release of the popular cookbook The Illustrated Encyclopedia of American Cooking. This cookbook contains 5,000 recipes presented encyclopedia-style with 200 entries that include information on buying, storing, and preparing. This cookbook was brought back by popular demand and was featured on QVC August 6 during the Cookbook Corner Anniversary Show. The cookbook was a tremendous success and is expected to be featured again later this year. The cookbook is now available through Cookbook Marketplace for a retail price of $28.95.

With the Christmas season right around the corner, all of us are looking for additional ways to take advantage of the gift giving season to increase our profits. Don't forget about the wildly successful Cooking Up a Classic Christmas—available to the recipe contributors at a special discount of 45% off retail and to all FRP clients at the fund-raising discount of 40% off retail. If you have any questions, please contact Sheila Thomas at sthomas@frpbooks.com.

Look for more exciting news from FRP Publishing coming soon.
