Recently, author Margaret Dickenson held a very successful launch of her new cookbook title, Margaret's Table: Easy Cooking & Inspiring Entertaining. About 170 people were in attendance at Nicholas Hoare, a bookstore in downtown Ottawa, Canada, for the launch. A total of 110 books were sold in the two-hour period. In other good news, a review of the book appeared in the Ottawa Sun on September 26.

Stop and Smell the Rosemary from the Junior League of Houston is featured on Texas Monthly’s Web site in the “Books for Cooks” section for October. Another of the League’s titles, The Star of Texas Cookbook, was the featured book in August. Flavors, from the Junior League of San Antonio, was the featured book in September.

On September 12, The Shreveport Times featured the new cookbook from the Junior League of Shreveport-Bossier, Mardi Gras to Mistletoe.

The new cookbook from the Junior League of Birmingham, Tables of Content: Service, Settings and Supper, received coverage in the August 6th issue of the Birmingham News and in the Over the Mountain Journal on August 24.

The Junior League of Baton Rouge recently recognized River Road Recipes II: A Second Helping for its 30th Anniversary and honored those who worked so hard to put it together. An hour-long reception was held before their General Membership Meeting, food was served from the cookbook, and one of the original chairmen spoke to the membership about how different it was back then to put a cookbook together. About fifteen to twenty of the original RRR II committee attended. RRR II cookbooks were sold that night only for 30% off the League price. They sold out of the ten cases they brought with them! The cookbook committee gave out jar openers with the RRR II logo in it as a souvenir for every sustainer and member who attended. They also invited the local press to take photos of the "old" and "new" RRR II committee members.
