Diabetics can have their cake and eat it too: Healthy Dessert Recipes in Simple & Delicious
January 4, 2009

AmMed Direct is dedicated to enhancing the quality of life for people with diabetes through their Better Care Program®. AmMed Direct joined with Favorite Recipes Press to create Simple & Delicious, a cookbook that was designed to make life with diabetes easier and more enjoyable.

Every recipe in Simple & Delicious are true to the title but they yield amazing sweet and savory options, from Turkey, Squash and Apple Symphony to Honey and Banana Scones. Moreover, all the recipes were reviewed by a registered dietician to ensure they meet healthful eating guidelines for people with diabetes.

Along with sections for Snacks and Entrees, there is an entire chapter full of dessert recipes. The Old Fashioned Bread Pudding is a healthier spin on this classic, calling for skim milk and nonfat whipped topping to lighten the delicious load. With only 108 calories per serving, the Baked Pumpkin Custard is a delicious and healthy treat to serve around the holidays. The Strawberry Yogurt Cake is a delicious treat that calls for only seven ingredients and should be enjoyed year-round.

A nutritional and caloric breakdown accompanies each recipe, sharing dietary exchanges, carb choices, proteins, fat content, calorie count, etc.

Simple & Delicious will be a complimentary part of the Better Care Program®. To learn how you can get your own copy of this helpful cookbook, go to, or call 1-800-435-1458.
