Since 1923, the Junior League of Jacksonville has devoted hundreds of thousands of volunteer hours and more than a million dollars to civic and cultural activities and institutions, including the Jacksonville Symphony and the Museum of Science and history. Proceeds from Toast of the Coast, the first installment in this League’s new series of cookbooks, supports these community efforts.

Beautifully designed and photographed, Toast of the Coast celebrates Jacksonville’s coastal climate and abundant sunshine with menus that emphasize the joys of gathering together with family and friends. This cookbook for entertaining includes menus for a mother-daughter luncheon, supper club gatherings, open house celebrations, and more. Liberally sprinkled with tips for relaxed hosting and creative ideas for décor, drinks, festive party themes, and more, Toast of the Coast is an excellent resource for anyone who aspires to host simple luncheons for a handful of friends or formal buffets for all of one’s acquaintances. Additional recipes offer variety for breakfast, entrees, sides, and scrumptious desserts.

The Junior League of Jacksonville has more than 1,200 members who commit to serving 10,000 hours annually in the League’s community projects. The Jacksonville Junior League was instrumental in starting the Museum of Science and History, the Player’s Championship, Volunteer Jacksonville, the Arts Assembly of Jacksonville, Leadership Jacksonville, CANVAS, Bridge of Northeast Florida, Inc., and Family Nurturing Centers of Florida. With volunteers and fundraising efforts, this League also supports the Shands Jacksonville Child Care Clinic, the PACE Center for Girls, the Cultural Center of Greater Jacksonville, the Florida Theater, the Jacksonville Symphony, and Art Connections at the Cummer Museum of Art and Gardens.
