To the canvas that is good cooking for family meals and entertaining, the Junior League of Tulsa has added a special touch of true hospitality, celebrated in the fifth printing of its classic cookbook, Cook’s Collage.
Published in 1978 as the first cookbook of the Junior League of Tulsa, more than fifty thousand copies of Cook’s Collage have sold. The cookbook’s simple, homey design allows cooks to customize a complimentary menu for any occasion from the hundreds of included recipes. A section titled “That Special Touch” adds a taste of local color with selected menus and recipes from Tulsa restaurants and clubs, renowned cooking teachers, and some of Tulsa’s popular hostesses. Recipes range from family favorites to gourmet delicacies.
From its modest beginnings in 1923 with thirteen members, to today’s current membership of more than three hundred seventy-five active members, the Junior League of Tulsa has played a significant role in improving their community. Its first efforts involved aiding the Red Cross flood relief during the great Mississippi River flood of 1923. The League has since contributed more than 1.5 million hours of community service and has raised more than five million dollars to support community agencies and organizations focusing on women in transition. These organizations include the Parenting Teens Mentor Task Force, collaboration with Domestic Violence Intervention Services, the YWCA, and many more.
Cook’s Collage was manufactured by FRP in Nashville, Tennessee. Since 1961, FRP has produced more than 800 titles for individuals, companies, and nonprofit organizations from coast to coast. Full support and consultation are available in the creation, production, marketing, and distribution of a cookbook. FRP is a division of Southwestern/Great American, Inc.
