In the tradition West of the Rockies, Recipes from Campfire to Candelight, the Junior Service League of Grand Junction presents its third book, Celebrate Colorado, West of the Rockies. Proceeds from all of their cookbooks help support local nonprofits, including the Western Colorado Center for the Arts, the Dinosaur Valley Museum, Habitat for Humanity, and dozens of others.

Grand Junction Mayor Bruce Hill writes in the preface that “Celebrate Colorado, West of the Rockies reflects the colorful tastes, cultures, and lifestyles of Western Colorado and the state of Colorado.” Through the inclusion of many heritage recipes passed down through generations and recipes contributed by local business-owners, Celebrate Colorado is a genuine community effort, and in its combination of recipes, it is reflective of the breathtaking vistas of Grand Mesa, the Colorado Plateau, and the Bookcliffs. There are even some surprises—a gumbo recipe, for example—and the dessert section includes such favorites as Swedish Nut Cake, Italian Cream Cake, and a standout Bread Pudding.

The Junior Service League of Grand was founded in 1983 as an organization of women working to improve the community through volunteerism and fundraising.

Celebrate Colorado, West of the Rockies: Recipes for All Seasons was edited, designed and manufactured by FRP in Nashville, Tennessee.
