MICHIGAN RECIPES FROM BETWEEN THE LAKES

Many people are surprised to learn that Michigan’s fertile Saginaw Valley is the world’s leading producer of geraniums, cherries, and is a national leader in the production of blueberries, peaches, beans and celery. Many will be equally surprised to sample the delicious recipes offered in the Junior League of Saginaw Valley’s new cookbook, Between the Lakes.

Between the Lakes uncovers the bounty of the region with recipes that include a variety of fresh seasonal produce and new family favorites. From appetizers to desserts, this cookbook gives anyone the access to the Michigan’s culinary bounty. Artists Ruth Howell, Martha Lisik, and Greg Hazen evoke the tranquil beauty of a region that is one of America’s great treasures.

The Junior League of Saginaw Valley is an organization of women committed to promoting voluntarism, developing the potential of women, and improving the community effective action and the leadership of trained volunteers. This League dedicates its time and funding to more than twenty community agencies, including the Bay County Women’s Center, the Frankenmuth Historical Museum, and the Saginaw Community Foundation.
