A cookbook for every occasion celebrating the coastal lifestyle and the art of entertaining has just been introduced by the Louise Wells Cameron Art Museum (CAM). The Cook’s Canvas 2 provides more than 300 recipes for simple weekday dinners with the family to elegant dinner parties with friends. Recipes were collected from more than two hundred Wilmington cooks as well as from CAM friends around the country with Wilmington connections.
Walnut Roquefort Shortbread (p. 70), Pork Loin with Red Current Sauce
(p. 127), Apple Cinnamon French Toast (p. 217) and Chocolate Bread Pudding with Whiskey Sauce (p. 243) brings beautiful aroma to the kitchen. Chapter openers feature some of the enlightening artwork featured at the Louise Wells Cameron Art Museum. Each chapter ends with a menu to help a party be pulled together with little effort. Included in the menus are a Holiday Dessert Party (p. 261) and a March Madness celebration (p. 77).

Sale of the cookbook supports the monthly Kids at CAM events and other special programs for children and families at the Cameron Art Museum. Over 4,000 children visit the museum each year. CAM is the only art museum in southeastern North Carolina. The Museum receives no regular government funding and is currently engaged in raising a $20 million Endowment to support and ensure its future operation.
