This unique cookbook takes readers on a culinary adventure, offering a sample of the lush and alluring landscape of Southwest Louisiana through stunning photographs by local photographer Victor Monsour, Jr. Journey through the bayous, marshes, and the Gulf of Mexico; travel from the kitchens of cozy cottages to the dining rooms of elegant homes to learn why, in South Louisiana, we love to live, and live to eat!
A portion of the proceeds from the sale of this book will go directly to funding the efforts of the Junior League of Lake Charles. Founded in 1933, the League is currently working to establish a Family Resource Center, which will offer a “one-stop-shop” to families of all levels of socio-economical backgrounds in the Southwest Louisiana area.
The Family Resource Center will provide on-going education to all who walk through their doors and help them learn life skills such as parenting, home safety, financial management, computer proficiency, and nutritional cooking. The Resource Center will also provide a wide variety of counseling, medical and referral services.
