The third cookbook from The Village Club, Popovers to Panache: Food with Flair from the Village Club commemorates fifty years of the group’s philanthropic efforts and fine dining at the Club’s restaurant and captures the beauty and tradition of the Club as it has evolved over time. With an emphasis on fresh ingredients and foods free of additives and preservatives, this cookbook can elevate home cooking to a new level of elegance and make entertaining an expression of sophisticated ease.
In addition to the Club’s signature popovers (p. 74), the recipes in Popovers to Panache include favorites from previous cookbooks, a selection of tried and true recipes using traditional ingredients, and recipes sure to become new favorites. The volunteers from The Village Club have selected recipes that are easy to use and lend themselves to well-planned, simple meals.
The Village Club provides a unique private club experience and gracious environment for its members, while offering fine dining and cultural, social, educational and philanthropic opportunities. The Club offers a range of classes and lectures on a wide variety of topics to the public. The Village Club Women’s Foundation gives annual grants to educational, and human service organizations in the surrounding region. The Women’s Foundation has given more than one million dollars to the community since it was incorporated in 1993.
